to change gears you should first slightly increase engine speed and press in clutch pedal as you shift out of gear then release clutch pedal for a second while in nuetral and then press clutch in as you shift in to new gear at about the same engine and vehicle speed as you were at when you started to shift, that is called double clutching. now you can also granny shift sometimes called speed shifting, by pressing in the clutch and shifting from gear to gear without a pause in between, or if you get good enough or if you damage your clutch and transmission enough you can also float the gears which is shifting gears without using the clutch except for starting and backing

Just before you step on the clutch your other foot should be stepping off the gas. once you've released the clutch you can then again apply the gas.

Release. But puting some gas on before you let the clutch up will save your clutch.

when you shift gears, you want to let go of the gas. if you don't you end up power shifting and doing it a lot will damage your car.

release, otherwise your engine will rev up and you will slip the clutch more when you let back out on it, therefore shortening the life of the clutch.
