OK, OK... I know that Dell has her quirks and lemon model but right now she is putting out there more good models like the Latitude & Dimension. Dell has a more strict production Q & A. I know because I saw it. remember the Sony battery problem, who was the first one who admitted it and offered remedy. It was Dell and others just follows but in the previous years other brands has a lot of battery incident problems. I've used HP, Compaq, Apple, IBM, Lenovo & Fujitsu and they all had problems and most of the time could not be fixed. When I had a Dell Latitude D410 Laptop it never gave me any problem. Sure I dropped it several times and left the charger overnight but it never gave me any bad experience. I already had it since January and all I can say is that this is what I should've bought before. HP is something you can offer to your enemies, criminals and terrorist so that they will have problems all the time. Good luck.

I recently got a Dell Inspiron E1505 laptop. I had a few problems with it in the beginning, but everything if running smoothly now! I really like it.

I've heard some other horror stories about Dells and their quality. A friend of mine purchased a Dell. The one she sent her was faulty and crashed frequently. They sent her another one, and it ended up having a defective battery! Now she has a macbook lol.

Another friend of mine has had her Inspiron (forgot the model) for over 2 years and its slowly dying lol. The battery and power lights always flash uncontrollably and it crashes every now and then.

I guess Dells have a short life...?

Absolutely not, its good value for money !! , Besides Dell does not manufactures components it merely assembles them, so the best products from manufacturers like Intel, Sony, Hitachi etc. make up Dell machines.

Both of my computers (1 desktop 1 laptop) are Dells and I game with them and everything, never had a problem that wasn't related to spyware or a virus. They run plenty fast and have enough memory, if you get the right model.
