Stop taking the amox PLEASE!!! You need to do two things.
1. Call you dentist. Tooth decay is a major concern during pregnancy. You are more likely to get a cavity while pregnant. If you have a cavity but don't have it fied, you can hurt you baby.
2. See your doctor ASAP! You aren't suppose to take any meds while preg unless under Doctor's orders. My OB didn't even like me to take tylenol. NEVER NEVER NEVER just start taking meds . You are not a doctor, even if you think you know what's wrong, it's never a good idea to self-medicate with prescription drugs, especially when you are preg. Are you mad? Is the health of your baby worth the money your saving from not going to the doctor? It's like your asking for a miscarriage!

During both of my pregnancies I took amoxilcillian. With my son I had an infection twice and with my daughter I had a tooth ache as well...my son is now 4 1/2 and my daughter is 4 months and there is nothing wrong with them..But each person's body is different and you might have a reaction. Also on the other hand all of the people I know who took this drug while pregante, there kids are perfectly fine and they are all different races and body types and different in general! The choice is yours

i took amoxilcillian for a snius infection but it was after my first trimester. You should really talk to your doctor. Amoxil is in the category B for use in pregnancy which means that they arent really sure wht the dangers can be but as far as they know it is safe. please call the doc, also you shouldnt take left over meds, esp when you are pregnant... they could be expired.

Many OBs will prescribe amoxicillin, so don't panic. But you should stop taking it, and follow the advice of the poster who said you should a) see your dentist; and b) call your OB/GYN and tell them what happened.
It's true that bacteria from a tooth infection can be dangerous during pregnancy.
And it's also true that you should never, ever take antibiotics prescribed for someone else or left over from a previous course of treatment.

I wouldn't worry to much. However, it is definately not a good idea to be taking a drug meant for something else. It's just penicillin you're taking but I would call the dentist before taking any more.

medications are never a good idea during pregnancy, try using a cold compress, if that doesn't work try a topical analgesic avoid systemic drugs. Tylenol is safe during pregnancy if a systemic drug cannot be avoided.
