I am a high school student located in the midwest and would like to go to a college on the West Coast (preferably California). What are some good schools to apply to for an aspiring dentist with a high school WEIGHTED GPA of 4.0 and what are my chances of getting into those schools (considering my location and GPA). I have not taken the ACTs or SATs yet.

University of the pacific is one of the best. It is in Stockton, California. It is competitive to get in but with grades like that you should be fine. http://www.uop.edu/ is the website. You should check it out. Other than that UCLA is good for almost everything but extremely hard to get into. the CSUs are good also but some are better than others. You should look for a list ranking the best schools for dentistry or at least science. Besides that it is good to look for a school that is well rounded in case you find dentistry is not the thing for you. Also environment. If you want a college by the beach or not. University of the pacific is not by the beach i'll tell you right now. But it offers great training and has a clinic on campus to get hands on experience . Students and people in the community can go for teeth cleanings etc. for a nominal fee while students get the opportunity to learn from experience. i know I enjoyed the school and my friends in the dentistry program, while challenging felt that they were learning skills that would prepare them.

No such thing as a Weighted GPA 4.0 you as a student only have so much energy to study one class. Math thinking is different from English, Art, and Chemistry.
If the University does not have an engineering building for even AA/AS in engineering then that is not a good place for an engineering student. Including one promised or in the construction phase.
Three Business buildings just for classrooms that are 2 stories high tell you thats really a Business College, from the start.
Asides from that look at living expenses these are hidden costs, the University does not tell you nor is it documented. For salary reasons in that same city.

UCLA, USC, Loma Linda University. I am familiar with graduates of all three and can tell you they are all excellent.
