Well, you will probbly be either moderate, a moderate dem or moderate rep.
Gun control laws
right to bear arms - Rep
some guns should be allowed but not ones that can kill 30 people a minute - Ind
No one should own any guns other than hunting rifles and wait 15 days for possession. - Dem
Abortion
No one ever should be allowed - Rep
Only in dangerous situations for the mother or rape - Ind
Every trailer park and ghetto should just open a clinic on every corner - Dem
Iraq
Anyone that doesn't believe we should have gone is anti-American - Rep
Now that we are there we have to finish the job - Ind
We never should have gone since there were no WMD - Dem
Minority Education Programs
Why should we help them go to college - Rep
For the low-income kids regardless of race - Ind
We didn't allow their grandparents to go, so they became farmers, then they never pushed it on their kids so they didn't go to college, so we owe the new generation an education - Dem
Welfare
No one should get free money unless they are rich - Rep
Either should be privatized or should be re-vamped - Ind
It's ok if we sent low-income kids to horrible schools so they didn't get a good education, we will pay for them to live as a result - Dem
No Child Left Behind
George Bush invented it, God himself couldn't come up with a better plan - Rep
It's great when it works but sucks when it doesn't - Ind
All you are doing is bringing the average education gained in public schools down, only non-minority classrooms and private school students will benefit - Dem
I don't know if you can guess, but I am a moderate-democrat. I think that some Republicans really feel minorities are less-human, everyone was created equal and had the same fair chance, everything that George Bush says is gold, we never make mistakes therefore never admit mistakes, killing babies is bad (even though they apparently never saw a crack-baby or child that had no parents growing up), and that going into Iraq was the right thing to do because the world is better without Saddam - even though many African country leaders are 10-times more deadly EVERYDAY and we don't even think about invading them.
You might not want to be either, I am ashamed of the Democrats and feel sorry for Republicans. Neither party is the moral party because they are represented by people that stabbed others in the back to get where they are.
Anyone that says the other party is stupid or less intelligent is really not someone you want to listen to.

When you see a homeless person, do you have to stifle the urge to kick him?
Are you CEO of a large corporation who wishes to keep your pay stub fat while minimizing costs to those pesky workers?
Are you super gullible, believing Republican campaign promises in Ohio to raise the minimum wage and that its better to unseat Saddam Hussein than go after Al Queda for 9/11? Can you repeat everything you hear on radio verbatim?
Do you take Jesus Christ as your savior, considering questioning the opinions of a church a sin that will condemn you to hell, and wish to condemn and convert all others who don't?
Would you sell your soul and sellout your country for a $200 tax rebate? What if you had to pay the $200 back at 500% yearly interest 10 years from now?
If you had to do one or the other: would you simply throw away fetus tissue or study it for medical research that could cure ailments like Parkinsons?
Are you afraid of them gay folk?
Do you enjoy defending seriously stupid and completely corrupt politicians, talk show hosts that are closet drug addicts and make fun of people with serious medical conditions, and attempting to pass off the most ridiculous economic and social arguments imaginable off as "fact"?
Are you a liar, a cheat, and an empty shell? Are you morally bankrupt? Do you love to preach good morals and do the opposite of what you preach when others look away? Does the word "hypocrite" define you? Do you like to believe in things that are completely contradictory in nature, or downright impossible? Is "science" a bunch of things that people make up and write in "books"?
If any, or all of these are true, you just might be a Republican! Congradulations! A lifetime of being a complete and total sucker for a party that will never lift a finger for you while in office is now yours to be claimed.

Discard labels of all kinds including Right, Left, Conservative, Liberal. Look at the party policies and what they have actually done in power - and look at your local candidate, as an individual (is he capable, with convictions you agree on, and likely to influence legislation and policy - or is he or she just a party hack). Personally, as an Ozzie, I think anyone voting Republican is either retarded or insane. Bush has done more harm in the world, including USA, than any other leader since Adolf - and the incompetence, ignorance, and arrogance demonstrated in the Middle East (especially Iraq, Iran, Afganistan and Palestine) has spurred conflict for decades to come; his "policy" on climate change is not merely ignorant it's disastrous; and he has lost USA respect and goodwill globablly. But I know the Christian Right, or the Jingoists, wouldn't agree. So make up your own mind, and let the rest of us see what USA's really made of, apart from horse-manure. I've got faith in the ordinary people of USA if they will only think and vote.

The values of democrats and republicans are always changing constantly. Belonging strictly to one party or the other means you are asking the parties to decide what to think for you. Isn't it better to remain independent and examine each candidate on their own merits? That has always been my opinion.
You might have noticed another person saying it is all about abortion. In reality the republican party is suppose to be about less government and less government spending. Values that they have dropped since 9/11 claiming that it "changes everything".
Now they focus on abortion and gay marriage instead of their core values of the party. Like I said it is always changing.

It's all about what you believe, but often times people can't side with one or the other because their beliefs are "all over the place"...which is ok.... because you should decide for or against each candidate based upon what you believe. No candidate is going to be for every single thing which you believe in, but what you have to do is choose the "lesser of the two evils" so-to-speak".
I'll tell you a little about myself.....
I am pro-gay marriage, but anti-abortion (except in cases of rape or disability of the baby). I am pro-guns, but very much anti-war (unless the country who wants to go to war has been attacked...). I am extremely liberal, but yet I believe so much in religious freedom that I believe that we should have the right to pray in schools, before football games, etc...
I am an animal rights activist, but I believe in freedom of speech so much so that I believe that we should have the right to tell horrible jokes...including those regarding animals (such as practical jokes involving killing animals, for example). The list goes on. Can you guess what *I* am? Probably not, because I am all over the place. I vote for whoever I feel will be the best at what they do. I vote for whoever believes in what I believe in more so than the other.

I have been a Republican for most of my life and am so fed up with this administration that I am voting Democrat in November.
Honestly, don't tie yourself too closely to any party. My loyalty blinded me to the nasty corruption within the Bush administration. Keep your opinions open, and don't let others do your thinking for you. Democracy takes dedication, don't let youself be labeled.

Heres the short version, if you make under $100.000 a year and vote republican you are politically retarded.
All other issues are secondary to your economic struggles, and reality. Why the majority of us fall into this (over 75%) and a Republican even remains viable in such an enigma.

Why, on God's green earth, would you want to be labeled as anything? What do you believe in, how do you fell about issues, from the heart, not from political ads. I am Pro Choice, and Pro Death Penalty, for one. How do you feel about that? I am for spending the tax dollars we already have been charged, to improving our infrastructure and National Defense. I am against raising taxes to pay for the mis-used spending of our already paid tax dollars. In my State, the Legislature, once again, is passing the buck to us voters, asking us to decide on new bond issues that we already passed years ago for the very same thing. And then the Legislature spent those bond monies on their own pay raises, retirement plans, medical plans, etc.
Vote your conscience, beliefs, wants. Not what a Political Party or PAC tells you how to vote.

You really don't have to claim either side! But if you would rather pick a side, I would go to their official websites and read their platform. See which one you agree with most. Republicans are conservative, and democrats are liberal. Think about where you stand between being liberal or conservative.
I hope that helped.
