For starters, take out all the plugs and crank it over some to get all the gas out of the cylinders. then make sure you check all the wiring to the distributor, and check the wiring harnesses themselves for broken wires. That should keep you busy a while.

92 colt hahaha ok, carb? and colt in 92? ok anyway, coil, fuel safety, wire short, or lmao the elec. lead from the batt. as in ground, or the + bus going to power dist. and it could be antitheft or no oil and seized, hmmmm where did i put my imaginary crystal ball. in other words, if its a colt, and a 92, it would be a mitsubishi(not sure) plant and subject to efi unless ......... and i havent seen a colt in yrs lmao so <--------------------->=x
now if you turn the key past on to start it should turn and fire. if not, but turns, then its probably the start circuit to the primary ign. if it doesnt turn, its the + power buss or other unknown. b.t.w. thats the thing with the big fuses. it corrodes and wont let the machine turn over or start.

If you havent changed plugs or wires then that could be your problem. Pumping the gas and you can smell it means your most likely flooding your engine. If its fuel injected you dont need to pump. try plugs and wires. supposed to change yearly
