Spybot - Search & Destroy detects and removes spyware, a relatively new kind of threat not yet covered by common anti-virus applications. Spyware silently tracks your surfing behaviour to create a marketing profile for you that is transmitted without your knowledge to the compilers and sold to advertising companies. If you see new toolbars in your Internet Explorer that you haven't intentionally installed, if your browser crashes inexplicably, or if your home page has been "hijacked" (or changed without your knowledge), your computer is most probably infected with spyware. Even if you don't see the symptoms, your computer may be infected, because more and more spyware is emerging. Spybot-S&D is free, so there's no harm giving it a try to see if something has invaded your computer.

You can only run one antivirus system, or you will have conflict. If you can shut down, McAfee an install http://www.avast.com Avast is excellent free state of the art technology. As one of the very best background scanners that catch trojans, and destroys them in real time. Frequent automatic updates two or three times per day. Avast will resolve this problem for you.
Windows Defender is pure garbage. Scan is small and very incomplete. Finds nothing.
Download, from http://www.ewido.net. This program was out of Germany and was purchased by "AVG", this year an is now out of Prague. Ewido is free after thirty days and you don't purchase. They will just remove from the full version the background scanner, (not really that great), and you will have to update on a manual basis. This program is great for finding trojans, malware, adware, etc. etc. and will not conflict with Mcafee.
Good luck to you.

Give up using Windows, and install Linux on your computer. Linux is immune to all viruses, malware, spyware and adware.
Go to www.distrowatch.com to find out how to get all the popular flavors of Linux...
...then do an image search for Linux screen grabs on Google.
