Is this possible? Im not trying to burn in DVD format I just need to burn a data cd.

No you can't, they are a completely different format, you can make a CD on a DVD burner, but not vice versa. You can buy a DVD burner fairly cheaply, so you should do so.

same way using normal CD Burner, you can burn CD
but u cant burn DVD but in DVD Drive u can burn CD

No it is not possible. The DVD-R is coated differently then the CD-R(RW)
