My mom called up to ask me what this could be. I found some information but not all the answer. No Pain, and it happen recently. She says it like there is sunglasses over one eye. She can see better on the edges of the eye. How serious is this?

Tell her not to panic but:
Any changes with the eyes or the inner ear should be checked out by a doctor very soon. Sometimes within 24 hours.

It can be glaucoma or catharract.
I hope the ophtalmologist is not far !
