Well, people make mistakes and that's the reason for divorce. Maybe one party misrepresented themselves before the marriage. Maybe there's abuse. Maybe there's drugs. There could be a lot of "maybes".
I think you need to step down from your throne on high and realize that everyone is human.

Actually being in love is not reason marriages work. You can be in love with someone, but if you are the selfish sort, your marriage won't work. Marriages that last require mutual respect, cooperation, compromise and a willingness to work at your marriage when you hit low spots. Marriage is like a roller coaster ride. If you can hang on when you are in the low spots, you'll climb back up again and have happy times, too. Every marriage has it's low spots. Life hands us difficulties. The partners in a good marriage, work through their problems together, without blame, and learn from the experience. If you can say, "I'm sorry" you will have a better chance of surviving the bad times. Lots of people these days refuse to accept that they are partly to blame for a failed marriage. Sometimes I've seen people make the same mistakes in a second marriage that they made in the first. That is why they divorce again. We all have to learn from our mistakes.

That is an excellent question. I am dating a guy that has been married three times. I have no intentions of marrying him. Some are the marrying type and some are not. He cannot seem to understand that if you love someone......you stop mingling with the opposite sex as much. We have lots of fun together but then he gets or makes all these phone calls to other "friends" which happen to be females. So I understand your question totally.

Annulment is disolution of marriage in The Catholic Church eyes. You need a divorce before annulment can be accepted. It is a long process with cannon lawyers from the church. For me it was a cleansing period after a very ugly marriage. It allows you to get married in the Catholic Church again and recive the sacraments. Annulment is a much longer process requiring witness of the marriage and pre marriage. Divorce is since a two year seperation with no reasons.

I think some people get married because they've been going out for a while and they think getting married is the next step.
People have to stop getting married just to be with someone.
Marriage can be so wonderful...if you're in it with the right person and for the right reasons.
Love is one of the reasons to get married but it has to be more than that because love doesn't fix everything.
It should be the law that before people get married they have to take couples classes for a full year before you can get a license.

#1: slow down, learn to write, and use some freaking punctuation!
#2: people don't get married to just get divorced
#3: my mother is married for the 3rd time, and she found someone who is perfect for her! He loves her 2 kids, and they're very happy. 3rd time's the charm.
divorce sucks, but you just have to work on a marriage.

People do not want to get married to get divorvced one day. Things happen, circumstances change. Some people are strong enough to deal with them, some are not. It is nobody's fault. Let's show sympathy towards those people who could not make it work for them and honour those who can.

well trust me i am only 15 but i have experience in this because my mom has been married 4 times... i no a lot..... what i think happens is you think you really do love them but you dont. a lot of the time attraction can be mistaken for love... or sometimes what happens is you really love that person a lot but sometimes that person doesnt feel the same way. or like drinking problems, or they just argue a lot, or anythng like that.

Everyone gets married because they think its the real thing. Problem is, they dont want to actually work at it anymore. Instead of following the vows they committed to, they simply think they will stay married and can always divorce if things go bad.
