There's a movie on now called Sling Blade, and John Ritter's in it. I've never heard of it before, and only saw it when flipping channels. From the little i've watched so far, it's pretty good. I think I missed the beginning. Is it one of those tear jerkers? lol Just wondering, because the last thing I need tonight is to watch something sad.... Anyone seen it, and liked it?

Excellent movie! Billy Bob Thorton's character, Carl, has the most interesting voice that will stick with you. It has some sad parts between Carl and the boy, but, you will like it in the end. BTW, John Ritter's great as a homosexual in a small southern town and Dwight Yoakam is way creepy as the mom's boyfriend.

This is a great movie! Watch it no matter what anyone says. It is the emotional story of the friendship that forms between Thornton, an ex mental patient and a young boy he befriends, it is touching and sad but shows that love conquers all and the sacrifices he makes because he loves the kid so much!

I recommend watching it. I think it's an awesome movie. Billy Bob Thorton was fantastic in it, not to mention the little boy. Dwight Yoakam is pretty funny as well as John Ritter.

Wonderful movie. Family favorite mmhmmm. If you watch it you'll probably hear a lot of catchphrases. I really like it Billy Bob Thornton does a great job. Ending isn't crying sad sort of dignified i guess. go ahead and watch it.

it was about the best movie billy bob thornton ever did, and dwight yokum (sp?) is fair, but he pulled off his part okay i guess. mmhmmm...ritter is excellent though, it's kind of predictable, but intriguing, if you pay attention. give it a shot. i wouldn't give it five stars, but maybe 3.

it is a very good movie
billy bob thornton makes the movie when he says imhmmmm
it does end kind of sad
but it is worth watching
it is a touching movie
