smoking= low birthweight, respitory disease(lungs and breathing) heart disease, poor circulation
alcohol= fetal alcohol sydnerome, disabilitys, possible retardation.
other drugs, depends what types, but you have chance of addiction in the child, all the above and a mililon others (over the various drugs) I would suggest giving it all up, now would be a great itme

Alcohol & drugs can cause birth defects and miscarraige.
The studies I have seen on smoking don't seem to show any such thing.
(I can already hear the rabid anti-smoking people bellowing, save it for someone that has no brain)

Yes of course all of those are bad for you and your baby. You need to stop all bad habits speak to your doctor about how to do so if you are far along it could truly harm your baby if you quit with out speaking to your physician first

Smoking is definately bad for babies. My mom smoked while pregnant and I have asthma and allergy problems because of it. She didn't with my brother and sister, and they don't have those problems.
Alcohol can cause mental retardation in babies.

They can kill your unborn baby, thy can be mentally and physically retarded. They will not develop all the way and are often born premature which isn't good for the baby or the mother.

please tell me that you are doing a paper on this, and are not pregnant and using drugs, etc...?! the baby will be born deformed, with fetal alcohol syndrome, lung problems, and be premature! that's just the beginning.

omg, whatever you take into your body your baby takes into their bodies. When you get high, baby gets high, and with such a weak body they can die inutero, the same feeling you get when you get drunk, baby feels it too....stupid question

its only nine months.. you can wait..
it affects your baby by prematurity, low birth weight, and your child could get real sick from all of that.
