Usually when I make a nasty suggestion to a gal,,it ain't THIS nasty,,,LOL:)

Gargle with Hydrogen Peroxide,,,
but don't swallow it,,it's Poison if a LOT is swallowed.
Do it a few times a day,,for a minute or so.

If it foams up very badly,,spit and repeat,,till it quits foaming so bad.

It's NASTY,,,but the Upside is,,,

You'll LUV me in the morning.

Seriously,,it DOES help to shorten healing time.
Most Peroxide bottles even have DIRECTIONS for using it as a mouthwash,,,soooo:)
Myself,I use it "straight",,undiluted especially when trying to "fix" something.
Use it as strong as you can stand it..
It IS Unpleasant,,but not really that bad,,,,,,more Weird-feeling than bad.
........................................
Gargling with Listerine or any alcohol-based mouthwash helps a bunch..

Cloraseptic type spray is very, very soothing,,,and has a strong antiseptic effect too.
It's actually a Pain Releiver/antisthetic,,,has a numbing effect.

I use a squirt after using the peroxide & listerine( to stop the gagging & screaming:)

ZINC-based throat lozenges,,"cough drop" thingies have some unique healing properties,,,and the Zinc is very healthy for you anyway.

None of that interferes with any medication I know of.

I get great results from those things,,and everyone who I know that's tried it beleives it helped a bunch.

If you have some Minty-flavoured mouthwash,,,
mix a couple tablespoons with a couple tablespoon of cooking oil,and gargle with that before bedtime.
NOT as crazy as it sounds,,,it's basically "mint flavoured salad dressing".
The Oil coats your throat so it doesn't get dry during the night.
You'll sleep better and awake without your throat being so raw & 'stuck together".

Some of those things are WEIRD Sensations,,cuz they're things we are not accustomed to doing,,,but not too bad,,and very SOOTHING

Hope You feel all better soon!

Take all the medication prescribed until it is gone. Drink warm fluids without caffeine (caffeine can dry out the throat and irritate the vocal folds), keep a humidifier going (or take nice warm showers), get plenty of rest and rest your voice.

Whispering is as bad or worse than shouting. Either speak softly or don't speak at all; write down what you want to say.

Gargle often with warm salt water. One teaspoon of salt in 8 oz of warm water.

Drink Chamomile tea with honey.

Honey/lemon juice Take several tablespoons of this mixture several times a day. Let it sit in your throat a little while. This remedy will also help alleviate that irritating throat "tickle."

If your medication is antibiotics, follow through on the full course of treatment as prescribed by your doctor.

Rest!

Drink alot of warm / hot liquids such as tea or bouillon. The steam and warm will help your throat and vocal cords. Try not to even attempt to talk. (see above!)

REST....!
