This is a very emotive subject Sahara! It is an issue that does seem to get alot of people angry. But I do agree with you, there are alot of selfish people out there! In my opinion, I think it should be the woman's choice whether she has an abortion or not. Particularly in the circumstance where a woman is raped. It is a woman's human right to have an abortion if she needs it. There are people that would argue that a human embryo has the right to life...but I feel that, at that early stage, the utilitarian view is for the best. Like you say, why can we not take into consideration the endangered species in our world. There are billions of us. We are seriously over populated and breeding at an alarming rate as we speak. Look at all the conflict that is going on between humans in our world today. Look at the crime statistics, the poverty and global warming! Who, in their right mind wants to add another human being to all of this? If only we could concentrate on putting things right and sorting out the mess that we are in, instead of just adding to the problem. You are right, the majority of human are damn right selfish!!! It is so disheartening!!! Why do people care if women have abortions when there is much more going on. They should take a look at the bigger picture and focus on the more important issues in life!!!!!

People love to have babies and to most of us is the ultimate challenge in life. To kill in any state of the world is a crime and people think that to take anothers life is wrong for numerous reasons now with that in mind the question stands to be if to take anothers life is wrong what reason should we have to take an unborn life and that it should not be our decision to because an unborn life is still a life and is therefor murder wether it is legal or not and the harsh reallity of it is if someone kills a child that has been brought into the world nomatter who you are you will most likely be disgusted and have a little grievance for the family and the child because any parents first thought will be if that was my child................ Now yes some animals are becoming extinct but civilsation has told us that its a dog eat dog world and number one comes first and i no the animals are not to blame but they live there life and we live ours and im sure that the animals are not wandering round thinking i hope the humans are ok others wise we would be united and civilisation would have took a totally different root but it never so its come to the point of you look after yourself and i will look after me and its not that people dont care but its a tough world and even tougher to live on so people addopted this way of life and the animals addopted there way of life and i allso believe that extiction is just another part of nature as it is a natural occurance which has happened allot all the way from the begining of time and we have no evidence to say that it is not supposed to happen i mean you think about this if the ice age never happened and humans romed the earth with dinosaurs who would be extinct exactly us because we would be lunch and supper to a world of monsters but they were extinct due to the ice age and what if another ice age occured we would all be extinct and thats another point if humans were becoming extinct would you still have the same oppinnion and thats why people care about things such as abortion and dont really think about animals because lets face it what goes on behind closed doors is nobodys businnes.

well first of all you have turned a good question into a very narrow minded question. Reality is that people don't really "care" that others are having abortions...its just simply they don't "want" people to have abortions by their own reasoning. They feel the need to "dictate" what others should be doing and this has to stop! We don't live in a dictators society. The reason why I said you made your question sound narrow minded is because of your lack of compassion for the human race. Its one thing to want to BE apart of the solution for whatever cause you may feel strongly about...whether it be animals... feeding the hungry, whatever it is. You, its a love of animals and thats wonderful...but you can't turn your back on your own kind. Its sad that these animals are endangered. Its sad that not enough people care. BUT, to say we shouldn't care about abortion just because we are over populated as a species is very crude. We are the way we are because of natural forces. (some say its god) INCLUDING the animals. Is it horrible that they prey off each other and kill each other...sure it is! Lions need to eat. People need to be born- whether we are over populated or not. Its not selfish or stupid to care that people are having abortions. Its that persons right, just as it is your right to want to save helpless animals...SAME thing...and when people start realizing that and get their heads out of their @$$e$...this world just might stay around for a few billion more years....!

Abortions, touchy issue. However, who are you, or anyone else for that matter to tell anyone what to do. The simple fact is, abortion was outlawed at one time, and oddly enough, that didn't stop abortions. No-one knows what someones else circumstance is, we haven't walked a mile in anyone elses shoes. When abortion was illegal, all it did was put money in unscrupulous doctors pockets, some wern't even doctors, or women tried to give themselves abortions, these types of procedures hurt alot more people than it helped in many ways.
As for animals, well animals are not going extinct everyday, but more are going on the protected list everyday. Why is this, well there are many reasons for this too. Firstly is a thriving black market in animal hides, ivory, medicine, etc. How often do you see a westerner nailed for poaching tigers, gorillas, etc. Not oo often. Most poachers are locals, and they do it because they are poor, hungary etc. Who is responsible for this? Their government. Living in the first world, it is impossible to make judgements on people who drink dirty water, eat once a day (if they're lucky), watch their chilldren starve to death, see their family and friends massacred in the name of god or some tribal dispute. When/ IF you ever did experience this you would realise it has nothing to do with being stupid or selfish, it has to do with your primal instinct of survival. Let's be realistic, if a pycopath held a gun to your head and one to an endangered animals head and said "It's you or your cuddly mate here" we all know who is gonna get it. Also if there were only 300 humans left on earth, I think you would find that abortion would also be outllawed, but I don't think that would stop people from murdering each other.

People are stupid....maybe.
Maybe that's why your parents let you be born. Because they cared about you more than the animals you care about. You wouldn't be here right now asking this question if it wasn't for them.
As for your other point about abortion...I'm an abortion survivor and I do give a damn for the unborn. I'm also a father of a 1 year old daughter (me and my wife's 1st child). My wife and I can go to bed without having any nightmares while we sleep.
Peace to you.

Well some would say animals were put on this earth to feed us and each otherwhich is why they don't have the capability to reason or problem solve or they would have figured out how to avoid being killed. They show no mercy of preying on each other in the wild because they have no true souls. They react based on instinct. We as human beings have the capability to reason/problem solve. We have emotions (feelings). We have souls. So aborting would be distroying a soul. That to some is very shameful and selfish.

It's based primarily on WAY outdated religious thinking. Some people just can't put themselves in the place of someone who's become pregnant through some mistake or another. The fact of the matter is it's YOUR body and life.Noone should have the right to tell you what's the right thing to do.
As far as all of the beautiful and unique species that inch closer to extinction everyday, they're not humans and are looked down upon as lower animals. Therefore they don't have the rights that humans have. That's some seriously flawed thinking there. It's a shame that this travesty will continue for years to come. The primary reason for animals extinction or endangered status IS the 6 billion humans in this world.I hope this changes soon.

I care about everyone, including animals because I do love the critters dearly. But- and I say this not to offend anyone: I am human first and foremost,so abortions of a child is always first on my list of 'caring'. Animals, second. I agree that there are too many of us, that is just a blatant truth, but what about our humanity? I know we act worse than animals sometimes, but Humans first.

There are plenty of Animal Activist groups that rally for the survival and wellbeing of animals as there rightly should be.
There are also many group that rally for the right for woman to abort
There are also many groups that rally for abortion to be illegal.
So, I guess your question is not to be addressed on the broad and sweepeing scale in which you have phrased it.......there are factions that address all these issues, so it does balance out in the end.
(For the record - my monthly donation goes to WWF and WorldVision, so one for the animals and one for the humans - the most needy humans)

Is this for real??? People come before animals in all cases!! And unless you dont wear make up at all or wear clothes that come from animals or eat any animal product that meant an animal death then you cant say that you think animals are important that would be hypocritical.
