I'm asian, and i have no specifice preference of race. However, my parents say they would definitely be unhappy if i married out of my race. THey want a "fair" child. However, there is also the fact that certain genes, when together, can be harmful. I'm not really sure though. I think interacial marriages are beautiful.

My parents were concerned at first. Being a chinese, my parents had hoped that I'd settle down with a chinese man. They were reluctant at first when I told them I was seeing a caucasian man, but after they met him, they loved him like a son they never had. Although they couldn't speak English (I do the translating every time they wanted to chat), there seems to be no other gap than that. His family were generally accepting, and were excited for us, especially when we announced our marriage.

My sister married a biracial man. The family wasn't thrilled about it. However, he proved himself to be extremely respectful and considerate of my sister. He was very educated and has provided well for her. He never forgets a special moment and enables her to pamper herself in a very lavish way. She had dated several caucasion men who were also educated but none ever showed her the measure of consideration she received from her now husband. It is 14 years later and we couldn't be happier for her. It taught us all a lesson in not judging a book by its cover. She made the perfect choice.

The family would not like it and I think its wrong also. When you have a mixed race marriage and kids are born its usually the kids that get picked on and treated badly even though its not their fault. It seems that they are the ones that have to deal with all the crap and the mixed couple just goes about there business.

I am married to a black man, and my family has grown to accept it. They realized if they wanted me in their life that they had no choice, but to accept it. At first it was a big deal, but that was about ten years ago. Now everyone has no problem with it, and they just want me to be happy with my hubby of 3 years. Now they have a bigger concern anyways, my brother has came out.:)

My family had a little resistance at first to my interracial marriage. My husband is Arab and I am white. My family just kept saying all of the stereotypes of Arab men, but after they got to know my husband and saw how happy he makes me. They love him more than I do now almost.

My dad/step mom doesnt really care I dont think. My mother on the other hand is racist. (we are a white family). I brought up the subject to my mom of me getting married to a black man. I asked if she would come to the wedding if i did. She said no. then later she said she would disown me if she ever saw me w/ a black man. what mom doesnt know wont hurt her. Hopefully!

As with every relationship we have our families only want us ot be loved and repsected. My family does nto look at people as a color but as a person. Glad I was raised that way and I raised my family that way. We are very multi cultural and have learned alot.

My family is against it, however if the right girl happened to come along and she were a different race, I am sure given time tho recover from the shock, they would accept her.
