I do have the google toolbar - how is that going to help?
I have the McAfee siteadvisor too. I don't want to know whether a certain site is spam or not, I want to know how to block them during Google searches.

Google is one big spam site - got fed up with their heavily dispensed "sponsored" results long ago. Instead of trying to fight it, why not look at another search engine - here are a couple of suggestions.

www.alltheweb.com
www.altavista.com

No site will completely free of junk results, but these two are a mojor improvement over google :)

*edit*
as an extra point, try using a more advanced search methods (not necessarily using the "advanced search" feature. To better explain:

+"I hate google" +always -"sponsored results" +domain:au

makes a big difference - an strangely rarely taught these days

You could try to pick out a word that the spammers use that real sites don't, and then use "advanced search" to block out any site that uses that word.
