It is not necessarily what you dream about. Put a continuous CD or CD's on with beautiful sound of waterfalls and/or outdoor sounds. You will be amazed at how it helps. I personally us Alpha/Beta/Delta CD's....I wake up incredibly non sleep deprived.

This is what I have just moved to and maybe it will ease you into a sleep like none other.
When I get up in the morning, I go out and sit to listen to the wind rustling the fall leafs on the trees. I hear a few song birds singing the few songs left of the season. The view I have here is one of beautiful colors of reds, ambers and yellows leafs, they turn with the easy wind blowing under and over them. I ease my head back and wait for the sun to peak over the hill to push the light into the trees making them look like they are electrified. My heart is new and fresh here, I feel free to breath the clean air and smell the wood burning in a nearby fireplace and all is good with the earth for that incredible moment in time.
This is my new life and I hope this helps you sleep as it makes me so very happy.

Maybe you drink coffee or any drinks with caffeine. DOnt smoke too 4 hours before you sleep.

If you cant sleep, try counting backwards 100 to 1, or make your mind busy. it is possible that your mind is open but then your eyes are closed. Count sheeps backward in your dream but then you can add twist that instead or counting sheeps, try counting different kind of animals in your mind and count them either the normal way or backward. relax your eyes. sometimes you are making your eyes tensed .

Some says drink milk but it didnt worked for me. Try also recalling the things that you do for the day.. the moment you wake up and now that you are lying in your bed. Also you can talk to God and pray. Sing in your mind. There are lot of things that you can do to lull yourself into sleep. if this didnt work, add me in Ym stephanie_delacruz98. i will tell you how to have anice sleep.

think about someone you have a crush on, or maybe doing something really fun with a friend. When I need to get to sleep, I usually dream about hanging out with my friends.

It's usually all in what you are thinking about before you go to sleep. Try thinking good thoughts before you go to bed.
