If you are able to take sleep aids, like no kids to have to get up for, I like Simply Sleep. It is made by Tylenol PM without the Tylenol.

After dinner, go outside for a couple of hours. Just do something out there to get the fresh air, and when I do go out, I sleep better.

I can't take a shower before bed. I am wide awake for hours.

Normally I would just suggest what really REALLY works for me: drink a glass of Calmax as it is all natural (calcium and Mag) and you won't recall anything till it's time to get out of bed!
Note: if you are stressed out too much about whatever, then going for a walk and getting some fresh air BEFORE you go to bed is a real good idea (if its real late and you can't go for a walk or whatever: some exercise with a bit of yr fav music will serve.

I drink a glass of soy milk before I go to bed (it somehow makes me sleepy and I get better sleep). Don't say 'ick' just yet when I say soy milk. Try Silk Soy Milk Very Vannilla (I think it's for kids but it's oh so yummy) or 8th Continent (the chocolate one is so creamy).

Tire yourself out during the day and have a substantial meal before going to bed. Possibly with turkey in it.
