A finger is catagorized as any of the digits on your hand. Thus, a thumb is, in fact, a finger. People think that it isn't because it isn't referred to as "thumb finger" like how "middle finger" and "ring finger" are termed.
All of the digits on your feet are toes.

They teach you as a kid that you have 10 fingers becuase its easier to remember. Your big toe is a toe. thumb is a thumb, finger is a finger, and a toe is still a toe.

your thumbs are your thumbs and your fingers are your fingers.
your fingers have names: index, middle, ring, and pinky.
a thumb is a thumb, never referred to as a finger.
And as for your big toe, you have 10 toes, all considered TOES, just one is bigger than the rest, probably for balance purposes.

Yes, your thumb is a finger. Your big toe is a toe. They are all phalanges, which basically means digits. You fingers and toes are digits.
