my science teacher is askin us extra credit questions and i really want extra credit. 1 of the question is why do we celbrate halloween and i couldn find the answer on the web. please answer

I think you have to answer something personnal. Halloween in the states is not the same as Halloween in France, or in Mexico, or in Ireland, even if the roots of that holiday is the same in every country.

I celebrate Halloween my own way, partly based on the celtic holiday, nothing to do with the costume commercial thing we can see nowadays. I use runes, and read tarots, and give a bowl of milk for the ghosts (but I'm pretty sure my cat drink it every year ;o) )

So why do YOU celebrate Halloween, that'll be your answer.

It's a good question, but a hard one.

For one, each person can celebrate Halloween for their own different reasons. Why not look up the History of Halloween http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_and_folklore_of_Halloween and give her some tidbits on their, and then explain to her why you celebrate Halloween. Don't forget to mention, before you explain why you celebrate it, that people celebrate it for many different reasons.

so your alcoholic parents can get drunk at a party
and kids get hyped up on free candy.
best for both
but kids should hit the streets right at 4-430 cause it gets dark soon its stupid to put them on the street after dark.
