It is time to change from REDNECK humor to TRUE AMERICAN Humor!
Only I don't see it as Humor, but the correct way to LIVE YOUR LIFE !
If you feel the same, pass this on to your True American friends. Ya'll know who ya' are...

You might be a TRUE AMERICAN if: It never occurred to you to be offended by the phrase, "One nation, under God."

You might be a TRUE AMERICAN if: You've never protested about seeing the 10 Commandments posted in public places.

You might be a TRUE AMERICAN if:You still say "Christmas" instead of "Winter Festival."

You might be a TRUE AMERICAN if: You bow your head when someone prays.

You might be a TRUE AMERICAN if:You stand and place your hand over your heart when they play the National Anthem.

You might be a TRUE AMERICAN if: You treat Vietnam vets with great respect, and always have.

You might be a TRUE AMERICAN if: You've never burned an American flag.

You might be a TRUE AMERICAN if: You know what you believe and you aren't afraid to say so, no matter who is listening.

You might be a TRUE AMERICAN if: You respect your elders and expect your kids to do the same.

You might be a TRUE AMERICAN if: You'd give your last dollar to a friend.

If you got this email from me, it is because I believe that you, like me, have just enough TRUE AMERICAN in you to have the same beliefs as those talked about in this email.

This is Excellent, No Matter what you deem fit to call it.
It is our Country. It is our way of LIFE, and I love it.
If you agree please keep it going. Pass it on.
God Bless the USA !

To Kim, first of all I spent 30 years in the US Marines fighting for this great country so I know what it is all about. My point was I'm tired of all the negativity in this country towards our troops fighting for your rights of free speach. I posted this expecting the negative comments I recieved because that is what this country has become. We have become so divided that we can't even get along. I have my beliefs that this country is in moral decay. I'm afraid for the future of my country. I've wore the uniform and I'm proud of it. but I see so many people bashing our troops for fighting for your freedom it upsets me.

i would say i'm a true american, but about these:
"You might be a TRUE AMERICAN if: It never occurred to you to be offended by the phrase, "One nation, under God."
You might be a TRUE AMERICAN if: You've never protested about seeing the 10 Commandments posted in public places.
You might be a TRUE AMERICAN if:You still say "Christmas" instead of "Winter Festival."
You might be a TRUE AMERICAN if: You bow your head when someone prays."

it sounds to me that you are saying that if you are not christian, then you are not american. is that what you mean?? not everyone is catholic, or even christian, in america. America is a melting pot. we, as americans, come from many countries, many nationalities, many races, and many RELIGIONS. as a catholic, i would do as you've stated above, but you can't say that it is unamerican to practice a religion other than catholicism (or christianity).

You forgot the most important thing. A true American believes in the rights of others to believe differently. This is first and foremost Although many of the points you list are good and even noble, they closely follow a theme that frankly leaves me uncomfortable. You could substitute the words 'TRUE AMERICAN' for almost anything. Try putting 'TRUE IRAQI' or 'TRUE GERMAN' in there. In your case, 'TRUE CHRISTIAN' might work better. As you can see it becomes ludicrous, and in fact is anti-American in the most fundamental respect. I'm sure you a fine person, but somehow I get the feeling I wouldn't be surprised to see you in a lynch mob if they still had them. In reality, a 'TRUE AMERICAN' (if I can use your term) need do none of these things. What a TRUE AMERICAN should do though is: Vote. Pay taxes. Obey the laws of the nation and state he lives in, and finally, voice his constitutionally guaranteed right of dissent at those things he perceives as wrong so change might take place. You really need to do some reading and learn what this country is actually about. You might learn that uncounted thousands with little similarity to yourself or your beliefs have given their lives so freedom might flourish.

You might be a true American if you kindly keep your version of what an American is to you and yours, and leave me and mine to ours...
