Okay, reply to this one and the other two I submitted! Firstly, I am lactating a LOT now and it's soiling through my shirt and as a manager of a big company, wet breasts isn't a POSITIVE way to get attention at my corperate meetings! Is there anything I could use to help me so that I look presentable and this stuff doesnt come out while I'm at work?? This is really important because I won't lose my job over this! I already lost my boyfriend's appetite, I'm serious, read my other questions and do your best to please answer them, thank you!

First off....you won't lose your job over leaking breasts. If you did, you'd have the right to sue for discrimination.

Second, there are things you can do to help.

Are you wearing breastpads in your bra? You can get them in almost any grocery store, pharmacy or baby store. You can buy disposable or washable ones. I like the cotton washable ones best myself.

If you feel yourself start to leak, cross your arms over your chest and apply discreet pressure to your nipples.

Wearing dark, patterned clothing makes it less noticable if you do leak through your clothing.

Have you tried BLIS? (See the link below.) BLIS can help to control leakage by using the natural method of gentle, even pressure on the nipple which stops leakage.

I know you are already wearing maternity bras. There are pads that go inside that can help absorb the breast milk. You can also try while in the shower milking out the liquid. It makes them less full therefore less to run out. I had these problems after my two came into the world, but I learned breastfeeding was not always an option. If nothing else talk to your obstertricion for some help.

The have breast pads that you can buy...they are in the baby section usually next to the bottles. They have the EXTRA thick kind. Give those a try. If you soak through the first ones...you can double up. Also carry some with you so you can change them. It will be OK. It does happen. Good luck and congrats on the baby ( when it arrives)

Pump often at work. Wear dark colored, layered clothes, like a heavy turtleneck w/ a vest over it. Use both washable cloth breast pads and disposable breast pads. If the disposable pads aren't absorbent enough, you can use regular pantyliners and just cut them in half.
That's my best advice.
you
fabric pad
disposable breast pad
lined bra
heavy, dark shirt
vest or jacket

If you manage to leak through all of that, I'm at a loss. Good luck!

You could try pumping more often so that you don't get overly full of milk and definately get some breast pads. I suggest using the disposable ones, the washable ones don;t absorb to well.

Take a few extra shirts to work too so in case you do leak you can change and not be embarrased.

Wear pads but I dont understand why you are having milk and havent had the baby yet you need to go to the doctors and not seek advice from here but in the meantime I would pump and wear pads because I am sure you can fill when you are full of milk so when it gets tight pump dont just let them leak out

Please listen if you need real help....two reasons that I know of that could cause you to lactate this much this soon. 1. your breast are either under alot of pressure causing you to lactate, solution, get a really good fitting maternity bra in your pre-pregnancy size. two, you are taking hot showers, the hot water eases the muscles around your breast to relax and let milk flow. Ask your Dr if it might be a serious condition, I dont think it is, but ask and feel free with your OB, Try it and at least see if it helps you

i think the best thing to do is buy those disposable pads that go in your bra and bring plenty to work with you and change them often. also i found that wearing layers can also slow down the soiling process. its a natural process so it will be hard to stop until after you have your baby. you could also try to put ice on them in the morning, but that MIGHT effect how well you can breastfeed in the future. well i wish you luck and i hope that i have helped you in SOME way.

I'm 8mths & I'm lactating sometimes also it's all normal. The first thing I would do is go buy nursing pads for your bra they'll help you & you'll never know your leaking but if it gets bad change them so many times a day to prevent it. Good luck

Honey!! Dont fret.... They make special pads to fit in your bra to absorb the leaking. If one isn't enough... double up. Hope this helps. They should sell them right with all the other baby stuff. Either with the bath stuff or formula. Somewhere. If you cant find them. Ask!!! They really do work.
