so i just turned 12 a month ago and on sunday i got a stomach ache and back ache, cravings, mood swings, difficulty concentrating, and this out of control feeling. and today, wednesday, they've started to go away. so now i just have mood swings and difficulty concentrating. i've been developing breasts and pubic hair for a few years, and have had a little discharge. do you think ill get my period? i asked my mom, and she said she didn't get hers until she was 13. when will i get it?

Yes, it sounds like it will happen soon. Have pads ready. The discharge is definitely a sign. It's how I knew I was going to have mine.... when I was 13 also. ( my older sis had her first period at age 12 and our youngest at the age of 11>>> our Mom at age 10!)

I think it's hard to say when you will get it. It sounds fairly likely that you will get it quite soon -- the symptoms you mention definitely sound like PMS. Often girls are likely to get it in the same timeframe as their mothers, but 12 would be a very normal age. The best thing is not to concentrate so hard on it! You can wear pantiliners if you're worried about your clothes. It will happen, don't worry, probably when you're not expecting it at all. Most likely the first period will be very light.

Probably any time now, you're definitely starting into puberty. The symptoms you're describing are your body's way of getting ready to start your period. You'll probably get it in the next few months.

i know EXACTLY how u feel!!! im 12 also. almost 13. and ive been experiencing the SAME thing. my mom had hers when she was 13 just like urs so we can stick with it for a little bit longer!!!

No one can answer that. You will get it- when you do. No one can predict it.
The fact that you are having all those symptoms you described - don't mean anything to me. GENERALLY, girls in early periods have very off cycle, non common periods. Please do not turn into one of those girls who blames every crazy emotion or unexplained anything on your hormones and your period.

who knows it really depends, it differs from everybody. also dont go by your mom, mines got hers when she was 16 and i got mine was i was 11. well good luck!
