What is the correct chemical equation for the reaction of acetic acid with water?

I am confused also on the conjugate base and acid and their pairs but I am most concerned with the equation. OTher than that, what about the equilibrium constant expression for this reaction?

this is the electrolytic dissociation of acetic acid in water
CH3COOH --> CH3COO- + H+

CH3COOH + H2O ---> CH3CO(-1/2)O(-1/2) + H3O(+)
