It is tough to admit to being abused. Your friend needs encouragment and support. He needs to remove himself from the situation, seek counseling, and file a report. It is very tough to get away from that environment. But for his own survival he needs to do so or something very bad will happen.

I guess it depends on where you live cuz there is a lot of women states out here but men get's abused too and I think they would take it seriously bcuz women don't have the right to hit on a man sooner or later he is going to get fed up just like women do and he may snap out and end up hurting her and then he will go to jail so I think you should encourage him to file a report that way if he did snap out atleast it will be noted of a domestic abuse and in the end it will help him out anyone that gets abused its always better when you have it documented. And as far as him being embarrassed he can call some of those hotlines and even the non emergency number to the police station and talk to them over the phone first and then he can kind of determine whether or not they are taking him seriously. Good Luck

There is no gender specificity he needs to get help before he becomes a statistic.
PLEASE HAVE HIM GO TO THIS SITE AND GET HELP
“Men Don’t Tell.” This is the actual title of a fact-based CBS TV movie about male victims of domestic abuse. Keeping silent, (not confiding to a friend, relative or professional) is a common reaction of both male and female victims of domestic abuse; it’s embarrassing. Men typically face a greater degree of disbelief and ridicule than do most women in this situation, which helps enforce the silence. Domestic violence victims make excuses for injuries that show (“It was an accident” or “it happened while playing sports”) when friends or medical personnel ask about them.
Every year, 1,510,455 women and 834,732 men are victims of physical violence by an intimate. This is according to a Nov. 1998 Department of Justice report on the National Violence Against Women Survey. What does that mean? Every 37.8 seconds, somewhere in America a man is battered. Every 20.9 seconds, somewhere in America a woman is battered.

Unfortunatly, in my experience, it seems that when a man reports it isn't taken as serious. I would still recommend that he does report it so that even if they do nothing this time, there is a record of the report incase it happens again. A lot of it does depend on the police department also. f it is a reputable department he may get farther than dealing with small town cops as such is the case where I live.

Unfortunately not enough men report abuse because of embarrassment, they feel ashamed because society say the man is the stronger of the two, when you and i know this is not true.My brother was subject to domestic violence and he was in the same position until one day he had enough and he got help for him and his two beautiful daughters as he was fed up of them seeing mummy hit daddy. The police do help and there are organisations and charities that help...........GOODLUCK and i hope who ever the person is gets help before the worst could happen death!!!

It will be treated seriously. It can be embarrasing, but only the cops will know and they have seen it all. Women can be just as abusive as men, they may not be as strong but they could still be veryviolent and try to do dangerous things, so they really should not treat it differently.

hello
well i was in a domestic abuse case my self and the woman can be held accountable just as well as the man.....but in most cases the woman is the one to file for an order of protection and the man gets the grunt of the deal....but don't get me wrong it does go both ways....and men are afraid to file for their diginity and thats a stupid reason.....because some women out here are really crazy just as men are.....so please try to talk to him in to an order of protection,,,,,and make it an exparte that away it last for a year and every where he goes across the u.s.....because if he don't it will only last for 120 days and then he is screwed.....and then maybe then she will get the hint to stay away....if he does get one then he needs to carry it every where he goes....i leave mine in my car so i have it with me just in case....for my protection.....its the best thing....it also keeps him from snapping and her getting one on him .....it will stay with him for the rest of his life as a domestic abuse case and i don't know what state your in but you can look up any one in the court system and find out any thing you wanna know about some one and that don't look good on a mans behalf to have domestic abuse charges against him if another female wants to find out about his past.....good luck in the answer your looking for.....

He needs to start documenting these incidents. Everyone knows there are women who beat the crap out of their men and play the "abused spouse" game, knowing men won't hit back.
