The press release distribution services that I have seen range from $10 to about £235. I am looking for a good, effective and cost saving service or website that can do this for me.

My budget is between £50-60.

Please help.

A website? what for?

Just email your press release to every newspaper, radio station, tv station, magazine etc. that would be likely to be interested in the story.

I regularly send out sports stories to the press. I have a list of every sports editor for the local press, national press, trade press , tv and radio. One email to them all works fine.

If you have the time then you should be able to do it yourself. To be honest, as someone who worked in the newsroom of a local newspaper for the best part of 10 years, we were more likely to take notice of an individual writing about themselves, as opposed to a press release from a media company who send hundreds, if not more.
It really depends on what you have and what you want to say in your press release. You should start my getting the emails of the editorial desks of your local and regional newspapers. www.holdthefrontpage.co.uk has a list of all the newspapers' websites and that might be a good place to start.
Good luck.
