That is the misconception. It is LEGAL to chew gums but it is ILLEGAL to SELL gums.

In my four years of stay in Singapore I was never fined for chewing gums we bought from MALAYSIA.

The much misunderstood ruling about gums in Singapore - it always has been legal to chew/consume gums in Singapore! Only no SALE of gums, that's all.

it is not against the law to chew.. but it is against the law to SELL
. if u are found with small amount of gums for own usage then u will be found guilty. just don have large amount of gums with u , officer might think that u like to sell those gums..

No, it is not illegal to chew gums in Singapore. But littering your gums is.

Buying and selling chewing gums is illegal unless for those approved ones in pharmacies.

gd question, i am not sure of that but i do see commerials selling gum for whitening teeth, so i guess it should be legal by now. just dont throw it anyhow or else you might be caught for littering. Cheers

Of course it is, except you need to register your name when you buy gums from the pharmacies.
