Rule 6.09b states that a runner can advance to first base when the third strike called by the unpire is not caught, providing 1.1st base is unoccupied, 2. first base is occupied with two outs..
This is an excellent question..
Now it's up to you to determine if that means the batter can swing at an obvious wild pitch for strike three and advance.. I suspect it would be a judgement call that if the umpire calls strike three, then the batter can become a runner.. If the umpire fails to call strike three, the batter cannot become a runner.. it's merely a ball that went to the backstop, and has no other implications since there are no runners on base..
Bottom line.. depends on the umpire and what he says..

Short answer---No.
A swing is an attempt to hit the ball. If you do what you described, that would not be judged as a swing, it would not be a D3K. Count is now 1-2. Of course if the wild pitch was a called third strike, you can attempt first base. .

..no.. i tried it... ran all the way to 1st base. both umpires looked at me very disapointed that i would even try to get away with that. when i got back in the batters box the catcher said "good idea ".. i replied "i dont think so , now i'm exhausted".. i proceeded to strike out on the next pitch .......the trick is to see the ball is going to be wild glance at the catcher to see if theres a good chace the ball will get by him and swing as the ball hits the dirt.. as everything else timming is everything... time at the batting cage so you dont have to resort to such foolishness would be better spent...

No, If the batter knows it is wild he can swing before the ball crosses the plate. It would be poor sportsman ship to swing way late. It would be the same if a pitcher tosses the ball during a warm up swing and clainms you swung at it, or tap your shoe in the batters box etc.

in line with Rule 6.09(b), because it really is a 0.33 strike not stuck then the batter has the right to visit first base presented a) first base became unoccupied on the time of the pitch or b) there are 2 outs and c) he does not go into the dugout section. in line with Rule 7.05(h), because the ball went out of play the different runners are entitled to toughen one base.

Yes, you can swing at the ball, unless it's an extremely late swing.
