Michigan is North and NE and Minnesota is West and NW.

Lake Superior is Due North.

Michigan's Upper Peninsula. After that you get your feet wet in Lake Superior. I suppose you could count Minnesota's North Shore on the other side of Lake Superior from the UP, as well.

Depending on where you are in WI, if you go due north, you will either wind up in MN (Western) Lake Superior (middle) or the Upper Penninsula of MI (Eastern). I know....I live 20 miles south of the WI/MI border.
