is it me?...I do like her...but! do you think after all this sucess, she now looks very (how do I say)..less approchable?..like she has this really keep-at-a-distance-kind-of feeling-about her...
As if one couldn't really get tooo close, I have never understood that. And when her friend Gail is on, Oprah seems tense, not lay back...as if to say..'I am in control here'? she is my age...doesn't she know how off-putting it comes across as?

I used to love Oprah, but now I can't even bare to watch her.

She has completely lost touch with where she came from, and the average person. Everything is about money and celebrities.

I have seen her be very unkind and judgmental to people and I have lost respect for her.

Even the thing where she gave a bunch of African girls dolls. that was not a good thing. As an anthropology student, often introducing something new to a culture can cause more harm than good. How are these dolls gonna help them? It only gives them a taste of Western materialism...

Sure she has done good things, but she's too rich for my taste, or budget. Her magazine is a magazine for the rich, not the average person.

I think what people forget or don't understand is that Oprah as we know her, the one on television, is a persona, a television personality. The real Oprah Winfrey, who she is in her private life, is someone that only those close to her know. Being Oprah is what made Oprah famous. If she were Oprah Winfrey on television, she wouldn't be famous. I'm sure there are many times on her show where she is being her true self, but the bottom line is she is making money off of being a personality called Oprah, not from being Oprah Winfrey the person. If you understand that, then you don't care what she does or who she does it with, because she's just another celebrity. (And that is the real truth.)

I agree. I used to watch her show religiously but now I feel as if she is and more into herself and thinks of herself as a hotshot. Kinda like Katie Couric in a way. But don't get me wrong, I still love Oprah. But just not the way I did last year.

I don't know, she doesn't appear to be the easiest person to talk to but I've never met her so I can't fairly judge. It's my opinion, however, that she's not as approachable as she could be, that she's let money and fame go to her head, even if only a little.

Then again, I've only ever seen a few of her shows so I could be totally wrong because, not only have I never met her, but I don't know as much about her as I could. That's just what I took away from what I HAVE seen of her.

I thought I was the only one who notices that attitude she has. It makes me like her less sometimes. It especially comes across alot when she has certain guest more than others she seems to be acting funny with. I don't get it. She supposed to be all nice and generous read to give anything to anyone with a sob story but when they come on the show she got her nose all stuck up.

I use to like her till about 3 or 4 years ago, for the very reason you mentioned. When half of each show, she referenced herself, in one way or another, I stopped watching. It wasn't a show of people like it use to be.

I'd like to buy her for what she's worth and sell her for what she thinks she's worth. I can't stand how she interrupts her guests.
