what might be wrong? is it because it's not the right size rim maybe?

If it was a donut spare you installed, it sounds like someone put the incorrect donut wheel in your trunk and the donut rim on the inside is locking on the brake caliper or brake rotor. If it's a full size tire and wheel, could be same type problem or the tire is way larger than that removed and the tire is caught on the inside flange of the quarter panel (or fender) or the inter wheel house panel. PS: it just dawned on me, you might of installed the donut backwards (outside/in ).

More then likly the frain is resting on the tire. If the tire is in some cases to small the car will sit on top of the tire and ir wont roll.

its probably too big and rubbing the fender.
