Absolutely take him. 9 is probably a great age for Disney. Just be realistic. There is no way you will see everything the parks have to offer, make priorities! Also, Disney is expensive, worth every penny in my opinion, but it doesget costly. At least at 9 years old he'll remember the trip. Disney is very family oriented, there arent many thrill rides...Disney is geared towards your son's age range, I think he'll love it.

If you can----------stay awhile, and see all you can----------and still not wear both you and your son out.
My daughter has taken her children several times. The last time, the children were older (11-16), and instead of Disneyworld, they stayed at a resort hotel and did all the activities there. The kids were not that interested in going to Disneyworld again. So, take him now. It is a perfect age.

I've taken my 3 and 5 year old and they love it. Obviously some of the rides they cannot go on, but it just adds to the allure for the future. If you can go during the winter, it's better than summer because of the weather, for one, a lot easier to stand in line when it's comfortable than when it's hot. Disney has a system for getting "reservations" on attraction times. Use it.

I just got back with my son about a month ago and he's 6. I don't know if you are a member of AAA but if so go through them. They have great packages and they do everything for you.

Yah, take him! I'm 29 and I really really enjoyed Disney. You are always welcome in Disneyland!!! :)
9 is a good age, since he can ride the attractions and he can understand the shows!
