Mine was "Nightmare on Elm Street" and the original movie from the '70's "When A Stranger Calls"...this one is about a babysitter who keeps getting calls from someone......one of his last calls he says "did you check the children?" I used to babysit when this movie came out....scared the living daylights out of me then.
Scariest Film of all time.....is this Japanese film I saw......about someone who cuts off the limbs of his/her victims one at a time and puts the suffering victims in a huge sac....crazy things happen in the movie......if anyone knows the name of the movie could you tell me?

The film you looking for is "The Audition". It is messed up, the dude has not tongue. Dario Argento movies are quite scary, but there again, it all depends on how you measure your degree of fear and what you've been exposed to as a child...

Hi Jazi, - Robert here from the U.S. checking out the UK site....
Have to tell you, my favorites come from when I was younger.
Recently picked up a box set of Friday the 13th. Haven't seen the first couple in ages. So far watched the 1st one - Kevin Bacon is in it. Don't remember that, but at the time (I'm 39 for the moment) everyone in the movie was older than me. It's cool to see the old slasher flicks - it puts me right back in the same mindframe I was in when I 1st saw them..... Sends a chill through me, even now. Then again, they were made better then too.
Recently saw the remake of 'When A Stranger Calls". I thought they did a pretty good job, but I haven't seen the original in so long..... I remember the bit about 'the call is coming from inside the house...', but I still would like to revisit that one.

Take care Jazi,

-R

sorry i don't know that Japanese film...sounds great though!
i agree with Nightmare on Elm St., i also liked the 3rd one. oh and the original Hallowe'en was classic. the omen also scared me when i saw it as a kid (i thought i would see that 'line' if i saw myself in the mirror).
also i loved '28 days later'...freakin running zombies!
but my all time fave is Wolf Creek. the film humanises the characters so i really cared about what happened to them.
(by the way i don't recommend Hostel...it's one of the most ridiculously bad films i've ever seen)

The Shining is the best horror film of all time. The one with Jack Nickolson as the dad.
The scariest scenes are not the ones you'd expect.

I'm into the Saw series because its not just horror and gore jigsaw is one of the best villians because instead of being overly agressive he is very eriely calm and thast way more scary than someone just going plain crazy
