Just a handful. I would think they know better than to encourage their kids to get mired down in that quagmire.

Fact: The military is an all volunteer force. There is no draft to dodge. So, the same opportunity to serve is afforded both the poor, and the wealty/powerful!

How many Democrats in Washington have children or grandchildren fighting in Iraq?

Why would it even matter?

Fact: The majority of modern combat units in conflicts are RESERVE units of the National Guard, made up of the people who work regular jobs in our communities.

They are supplemented by the Active duty career military personnel who are dedicated to the full time defense of our nation.

Most people tend to be Democrat/Liberal in their youth, but, as they learn how much responsibility they must assume for the huge deficits of both parties, and, as they attain families, and more burdens, becoming more Republican/Conservative as they age.

Finally, and hopefully, they will wake up to the fact that both major parties are just two sides of the same coin, and they need to become part of the Libertarians!

More than a few, I am certain. No one group of people is too privileged to go. Those who think like that get caught and exposed, be they Democrat or Republican. Please be responsible, and not resort to such pettiness as saying that only xyz types of people do 123... That's just wrong..

I don't believe that people like yourself understand this whole concept of a volunteer armed forces.

Republicans and Democrats don't decide if their kids or grand kids should go off to war. This isn't the 40's, 50's, and 60's when we had a draft, and the high rollers had the ability to keep their kids at arms length of the draft. Today, the person in uniform decides for himself or herself if they want to be there.

So please. save us the repetitiveness of this non-issue, and don't ask this question, again. Thank you!

Republican children belong to the Air National Guard, and don't have to go to combat.

Or show up for drill, for that matter.
