I lived in Miami during the 70's and part of the 80's. I knew an old guy who collected old newspapers from around south florida(the old Miami herald, miami news, ft lauderdale sun-sentinel, palm beacj post).

I personally SAW the wedding announcement in an old 40's issue of the Palm Beach Post. And the old guy was a fan of JFK and the Democrats and thought it was "no big deal".

Both JFK and Malcolm denied the story. It was a false story emanating from an error in a flawed book of genealogy (which even spelled Malcolm's name incorrectly). Some 35 years later, Hersh resurrected the story, not on the basis of any witness or document to the alleged marriage but on the basis of a piece of conversation that he managed to elicit from a 79-year-old Palm Beach resident,
