Its $39.95 and would like to find one for free. Is spyware (spybot) the same thing as this?

Drivecleaner is a piece of S*&t. If you get a pop-up from them, it's on you system and is very difficult to get off. Avoid them. I look at it this way - why would I purchase from a company who installs unauthorized pop-up software to advertise their product? What am I getting if I actually pay them for a product? And there is no way to contact them unless you buy from them.

I use spybot and the free version works great.

Don't buy the software it is a scam. Also if you want to get rid of it check out removal instructions here http://www.spywareremove.com/removeDriveCleaner.html

Spybot Search and Destroy is a legit, well respected, program and is accepted as a great removal tool for malicious software. Add that to your security arsenal.

Good luck!

It is a scam. In fact DriveCleaner is a trojan infection in itself.

Your computer needs a complete cleaning and disinfection.

Here is a free procedure that I use:

1. Scan for virus and remove (free online scan) with BitDefender

http://www.bitdefender.com/site/home/

2. Scan for trojans and remove (free online scan) with Ewido

http://www.ewido.net/en/

3. Scan for ad/spyware and remove (free download) with Spybot Search & Destroy
