As it happens, the question you pose happens to be the case right now. The Republicans currently control both of those Branches (some would argue that they control all three). In the current case, it appears that a weak legislature of the same Party as the President tends to act as rubber stamp for the Executive. In times past, the Congress has taken its role in the scheme of "Checks and Balances" more seriously. Part of the answer to this question depends on your view of the performance of the party in power. Personally, I don't think things are going particularly well - you may have another view.

You have two counts of 'duh!' in this question.

First, the Republican party has controlled both the legislative and executive branches for the last six years. What happened? Disaster!

Second, Wikipedia's accuracy has been found to be equal to Encyclopaedia Britannica. People who are unaware of the process used assume that just anyone can put anything up on Wikipedia. Not so!!

Finally, it is a mistake to make assumptions on subjects about which you know nothing. This seems to be a pattern of yours. Don't embarrass yourself so publicly.

We have been living with Republican control of legislative, executive, and judicial branches of the government for too long already. And it hasn't been good. The legislature, executive branches have held power for the last six years. And that's not good. Too much power has gone to their heads, but I think the tide is turning. That's why corruption issues are being brought out.

Well for the better part of the 20th Century the Democratic Party had control of both houses of Congress and the White House. The results were generally high taxes, Supreme Court Judges who ignored the constitution and 4 of the costliest wars in our Nations history WWI, WWII, Korea and Vietnam.

You've been living in it since 1/20/01. What usually happens is that Congress gives the President more power than he should have, and the President rubber-stamps almost everything Congress does.

The party in control would be able to rush through their agenda.
Most Republicans want to win the war in Iraq. Most Republicans want to lower your taxes, and most Republicans want to make our boarders safe.
