i don't think that some people really understand that you are asking for OPINIONS here--not necessarily answers. most of us are not experts in the answers we give, we just do it because, for some strange reason, we are addicted to this site.

Great. Let's start the ball rolling by threatening the people who might be interested in answering your question. Great way to influence people.
Anyway, some folks work on the basis that if you are going to answer a question, you might as well put a little effort in and try to provide a useful and cohesive answer.
Other people just go "yeah, me too" and "I agree" or "don't know". If and when I ever ask a question, I would hope to get an answer that might just possibly be helpful.
I would turn your question around and ask "Why do some people give such pointless answers to sensible questions"

There's nothing to report you for...you haven't broken the rules.
This site is NOT for opionions. It is for knowledge, and opinions are not that.
I believe that too many people take this site not seriously enough. It's not intended to be a chat site, or a place for everyone to agree on who's hot and who's not. There are other sites for that, and if that's what you're looking for, you should go to one of them (I don't say that because I'm trying to get rid of you - just to allow you to get what you want).
You're supposed to ask serious questions, and you have the right to expect serious answers.

Define too serious.
I fix computers everyday. My suggestions may not always be the answers, but in most cases it gets people further than they were to a solution.
I realize there are people that ARE addicted to this site for whatever reason, and there are quite a few people who would be better off not saying anything because they are not trying to give a solution of any sort.

It´s supposed to be serious here, Some people really ask seriously. others don´t. I have learned a lot through the answers, Hope this becomes to be a better site, with based opinions. Anyway it´s interesting how people needs to communicate with others. It´s based in a rea need.
