If you need to convice her then maybe she thinks you are not responsible enough for a cell phone. Who will pay the bill? Do you have a job? What happens if you lose the phone? Who will pay for all this. Think about it and answer your own question.

Why not get one of the prepaid phones.. where you buy minutes in advance? Maybe you and your mom could negotiate a plan where you get a certain amount of minutes in an alotted time period (like every other month she'd replenish the minutes to a specified level)... and if you blow all the minutes you have to wait untill the next scheduled replenishment.
Doing this could show that you are responsible (that is IF you're able to budget the minutes you're given) ... It allows you to have some extra security by having a phone.... AND most importantly - the mother can control the cost.

Of course you don't state how young you are, so maybe she doesn't feel you're old enough yet. If you are... maybe you can do certain chores around the house thus earning an allowance.

This is rehtorical (meaning - not a question requiring an answer) ... but why do you need a phone by Sat ??? If you've survived without one till now... I'm sure you'd get though the weekend without one too.

mention the fact that having a cell phone would allow her to always be in touch with you. I would also do some research to find out what company has the cheapest pricing plans, and best coverage. Also I would throw int here the fact that we don't live in a safe world, and having a phone would allow you to get in touch with her, and other famile members if such an emergency would arise.
Also a good idea to mention the fact that you won't go over on the minutes. Good luck

How about this one: stop LYING. If you lie half as much to your mom as you to do EVERYONE in almost all the questions you answer on Yahoo, you probably dont deserve a phone. Seriously, you answer my question and say that "you are a veterinarian," yet in another question you "are 13 years old and wanna look 18". Grow up and stop lying kid. Then maybe your mom will get you a cellphone.

PS. Dont answer anymore of my questions ever again. I don't want advise from immature liars.

if she has said "no" then save your allowance and buy your own

wow no allowance huh?
so rake leaves for your neighbors to get some cash, or maybe try babysitting.
if she will pay for it why are you so sure you need to convince her-why not just ask?
give her the reasons WHY you think you need one.
good luck

tell her how you saw on the news that some kid got lost or kidnapped or something and was saved because they had a cellphone.
