it is more narrow than other bridges into NJ. it tends to be less used than others as well. i take this way when the traffic is bad around the philly airport or when multiple games/shows are in the arenas. the high volume at the arenas causes a back up from Island Ave through Center City. So it is sometimes better to go around the traffic.

It depends on what time of day you go....anytime near rush hour is absolute hell because about a 1/4 mile before the bridge exit is an on ramp from both the right and left. It backs up for miles everyday. At times other than the rush hour, it's a very easy drive. If you are coming from as far south where you can easily take the Delaware Memorial Bridge, the traffic would be much lighter even at the rush hour. I live about two minutes from the Commodore Barry.

????? I'm not sure how to answer your question? Driving over the Barry is rather boring. Not a lot of traffic on it. No toll into NJ. Good way to reach 295 instead of the Whitman.
