Okay, I'm entering 3 pieces into an art show and I need a critique! I'm 14 and I've only been drawing for a year, so I'm not a pro at all... I just need to be told what's wrong because in my eyes I see the drawing differently.
Thanks! =]

Oh, and I'll be selling the first two. How much do you think I can get out of them? (be honest!)

You absolutely have lots of talent and especially for someone your age. I think you did excellent. To give you an honest critique though and I have to tell you flaws also. The 1st portrait (in my opinion) could be more effective if you made the neck more proportion to the head. the lower half of the face is slightly out of proportion but it might be less noticeable if the neck was a bit loner and a little thicker. Also maybe darken the corners of the paper (the negative space) to make the portrait more dramatic. In the 2nd one the nostrils are a little crooked. Please don't take my comments offensive. You are doing some amazing work. especially for some one who has only been drawing for a year. Good luck at your show!

I'm no good at art but I can give it a shot. Their pretty good. But the eyes on the first on and sort of the third one are too symetrical. It looks like you could fold it in half and they would line up exactly. That doesn't happen in real life. The shading is really good though. And I guess you could sell them for $30-50 a piece.
Hope this helps.

those are really good!!! i could only see the first 2 because my computer couldn't show the third one. you're 14 and only been drawing for a year?! I'm 12 so my opinion might not matter to you, but i cant think of anything for you to improve on. i draw cartoons Japanese style and i paint landscapes anyway. you are an artist good luck! :) sell those things $100 and up, honest!

Start drawing things from real life. Do little still life set ups in your room and draw those. Why? Because when you draw from a photograph--which you are doing if you are doing celebrities unless these people are in your living room-- then the camera taking the picture is already making a lot of decisions for you. You will learn more drawing from real life.

You'll be a pro as soon as they sell. Instead of asking what is wrong, the better question may be, what do I do to improve? I'd say, keep at it, that's all. 14 is a great age and you should take advantage of all educational opportunities to expand your art talents.

i'd sau the first 2 have the greatest merit.. and for someone so yound with little experience the general quality is very good. Keep it up!

As for price... something is only worth as much as someone is willing to pay for it. Find someone interested in the piece and ask them how much they're willing to pay... then ad 20% to it :)

You are very talented, but I would advise you to work on the lips...somehow it doesn't seem real to me..or maybe it's just..but as I said before, you are talented.
