Why should we when everybody else flies the mexican flag or the italian flag. wat the heck is the difference???

Keep the rebel flag.
Liberals dont like it becuase they feel insulted, for whatever reason. Either that or its trendy for them to be anti, complaining wimps. If its a race thing, non-blacks dont say a thing to black power groups...they let them do what they please.

There should be no difference. The rebel flag was flown during war time and many southern soldiers(which are my ancestors died). Right or wrong it doesn't matter because it was a symbol of those who fought and died. It has nothing to do with prejudice or hatred. Some think otherwise but in the south we should allowed to fly it. By the way if you're ever traveling between Montgomery and Birmingham Alabama look over on the side of the interstate. There is a memorial set up there and they fly a huge rebel flag.

Well for one thing, Mexico and Itally are COUNTRIES. The Reb. Flag is NOT the flag of an independant country, contrary to what you may think.
I'm sure you've heard about the NAZI flag being outlawed in Germany (now you have)...So guess what flag they've adopted?...That's right the good ole' rebel flag...In Europe it's not associated with the Southern US....It's DIRECTLY LINKED TO THE NEO-NAZI PARTY...Now what do you suppose the REST OF THE WORLD sees when they turn on fox, cnn, algezira or whatever they watch and see americans flying the rebel flag....Be an american if you're gonna be one, but don't wave your Nazi flag in my face!

Unlike the Mexican flag or Italian flag the rebel/southern flag used to represent hatred. I agree with the last poster, this ain't the civil war anymore, stop making a fuss over an old dumb flag.

Because displaying one is an admission that you are proud your ancestors completely and utterly failed.
Display the American one, because the South actually won the war.
Look at how many Southerners are in power. The three branches are infested with stupid, white haired, southern men. The South lost in the newspapers and didn't keep slavery, but in every single other way, they won the war.

In the South its a symbol of hate and oppression. A lot of people look at it negatively. But, its your prerogative. So, do what you want to do.

that flag is the symbol of a country that no longer exists. they lost, remember? so fly it if you want. by doing so your telling the world your a loser too.
