It hurts about as much as getting your ears pierced.

I got my belly button pierced and was scared out of my mind it would hurt. Well I wont lie it definatly wasnt the most pleasant thing but the pain of actually getting it pierced only lasted a few minutes and then it was done. Its really afterwards that you have to worry about just making sure to keep it clean and not letting it get infected. Sooo dont worry so much the pain is over just like that and its super cute once its done.! :)

The initial pain is short and shouldn't bother anybody too much. If you have your ears pierced, it shouldn't be a problem for you.

If you really dislike pain, make certain that you keep the area very, very clean until it's completely healed. The pain of an infection will be far worse than actually getting it pierced. Winter might not be the best time to have this done because you'll want to keep the area uncovered as much as possible.

Good luck and hope this helps :-)

Actually, it doesn't hurt. Hard to believe but, the anticipation of the whole process kinda takes over and before you know it it's done. At least that's how it was for me. It took about 3 and a half to 4 months to fully heal. But you really have to take care of it and wash it often with salt water that you can make at home yourself. Just remember that when it starts to puss, then you know that it is healing properly. Don't touch it unless you're cleaning it and try to resist changing the jewelery until it has healed fully. Good luck and I'm sure you won't regret it. I've had mine for 5 years now and I still love it. By the way, when I was pregnant with my son I took the jewelery out and the hole didn't close at all like I thought it would. Now I take it out and put it on whenever I want. Anyway good luck!

the belly button it the most painful because it it all tissue. no cartilage, and it is in the core of the body. You use ur stomach for everything. and that is why the healing time is longer, and don't for get that it is the most forgotten hole on the body, so most times, it will get really infected, easiest to rip out, and more likely to be ripped out. something as small as pulling your shirt down over it can rip the skin if it is a fresh piercing. You have to take a class here in SC and get medically trained if u plan on dong Legal piercings. you medical training has to be on the wall.

Imagine someone stabbing you through the stomach with a railroad spike and then syphoning a mixture of chopped pinecones and salt through that gaping hole with a swirly straw, and you might come close to the pain of a belly button piercing....but man oh man do they look sexxy.

Well, if you pich your arm as hard as you can...that is about how much it will hurt. At least, for me anyway. It will be sore for a day or two. Make sure you wash it everyday if you get one.

it hurts, I've had it done twice, and both times it hurt. I'd rather get my tongue pierced again than do that again. but they are cute.
