I know how they are aligned but it's really difficult to communicate through Yahoo! Answers. Let's see if I can paint you a picture.

Imagine that you are in the northern ecliptic sphere looking down on the solar system. Now imagine that there are points at the edge of the solar system like the face of a clock. And let's put the Earth at 90 degrees (or 3 o'clock) from the Sun.

Mercury would be at aproximately 4:00
Venus would be at aproximately 8:45
Earth (we already said) is at 3:00
Mars would be at aproximately 9:15
Jupiter would be at aproximately 8:15
Saturn would be at aproximately 11:45
Uranus would be at aproximately 4:45
Neptune would be at aproximately 5:15

Hope that gives you a clear picture of the alignment currently.

Mercury, Venus, Mars and Jupiter are all quite close to the Sun now. The other planets are pretty much scattered.
