if this happens how evil can I get with him? How long does he have in which to send me the W-2. Am I legally obligated to remind him? If I can go darkside on his sorry butt I want him to forget about the W-2. Any comments or suggestions? Thanks.

Just call them and make sure they have your address. There's no reason to act like a child.

I have worked for many years and never has an employer not sent the form. The time varies but it is usually in early January. If you don't get one then you can get his "sorry butt" in deep trouble with the IRS. Why should you have to remind him he is bound by law to send it to you.
Make sure your correct address is on file or he can say he sent it to you.

he has until Jan 31 to mail it out.. it is very unlikely he will forget it, it is your responsibility to make sure he has your correct address.
