Besides the obvious mentioned above about responsibility, its when a person is fully aware of their inner voice/conscience and acts on that instead of impulse to do what is easy or gratifying.
Children and teens have a conscience, but because they often times lack the maturity and will power don't always listen to their inner voice. Adults who have (hopefully) acquired wisdom and perspective with age, will think out their choices.
Some people acquire this inner voice at an early age and some may never. Perhaps that's why we applaud the 12 year old who has a great sense of self awareness and are dismayed at a 50 year old man who has no moral compass at all.
or....maybe its when you get credit cards :)

yes,
the adulthood means the heap of responsibility. If u think that u are not matured enough to take responisbility then i guess u r still a teen age.
Adulthood is the most important phase of life where we take major decisions And if something goes wrong then........

Personal responsibility, personal accountablility, and respect for yourself and others would top my list. Also minding your own business. Obeying the law even when you disagree with it. Accepting there are things beyond your control.

Wow I love your question. Yes, it's true. Otherwise, when it comes down to it. How can someone in return hold you to be responsible or trust you to do any task?

Being able to provide for your own survival, ( food, clothing, shelter) not being paid for by mom or dad.
Also providing for any children you create, both their physical and emotional survival.
