In the Gobi Desert, our bactrian camels drank about 6 gallons of water at each spring. In Egypt, the Dromedarys drank about 5 gallons. Unlike the common belief that the water is stored in the humps, it is not. The humps are pure fat and are rendered into cooking oil. The flesh tastes a little like beef.
