dual core 2 or Xeon dual core which is faster?

This issue has been somewhat confusing for me as I try to decide between purchasing an Apple Mac Pro or a new PC with Dual Core 2 processor

Well the G5 has two dual core Xeon processors, giving you a total of four cores. You cannot currently get this with the Core 2 Duos, but they will have a Core 2 Quadro soon that will have 4 cores. The Core 2 Duos and Xeons are basically the same, however the Xeons do have a faster front side bus, so they do perform a little better.
