I know the dominant dog is the alpha dog, but what about the tiger or lion or any other animals?

In elephants it's called a patriarch and matriarch. That's true for hippos as well. Tigers and lions are called apex predators too. Not sure if that was the word you were looking for.

If you scroll down at this link you'll see some beautiful photographs of apex predators and brilliant captions, despite the top being sort of cruddy.

Scientifically, all dominant males are called the alpha males but that's for mammals or land-dwellers (dinosaurs are assumed to have had alpha males too) but in fish, the dominant male is called a "Supermale". In one genus of fish, the wrasses, only the supermale develops the full coloration. Reptiles and amphibians are without dominant males.
