I recently (2weeks ago) had the same thing happen and my dr said to wait at least 6 months, she also said that after a dnc you are more likely to get pregnant in the 1st 6 weeks but it isnt always a good thing to do it that fast. Best of Luck to you

It depends on how far along you were and you said that you were 2.5 months. I lost mine at 8 wks and had a D & C at 13 wks. I was told to wait 1-3 cycles before trying again and then I was told that I could try again as soon as I felt like it. I miscarried again 3 months later and wondering now if I could be again! It just depends on the couple because you are still fertile after having a miscarriage, but the best thing to do is give your body time to heal and yourself time to grieve! It also depends on your hormones and body because it takes some women a couple of months to start ovulating again and in some cases, a female may wait up to six months before ovulating again! Sorry for your loss, but I was told that I had a missed miscarriage because the chromosomes probably didn't come together correctly. Check this site out www.ispokewithmychild.com
If you are trying to get pregnant again, more than likely you'll be pregnant again within the next three months.

My wife was pregnant and she also had a dnc, her doctor told us to wait until she had a period. About two months later she had her period, a month after that she was pregnant and now she is due in April.
A side note my wife is from Europe. After the dnc we went to visit her family and she saw her doctor there and she did some tests and found a disease that is in the herpes family, but not as severe, men carry it and give it to their partner, her doctor said it is curable, so both of us took some pills for a week, with out sex, now we are good, however American doctors don't test for the disease.but they should, I am sorry I don't remember the name of the disease e-mail me later I will ask my wife the name and pass it on.

I miscarried at 5 months and had a dnc...they told me to wait at least 6 months to let all my hormones get back to normal. That was several years ago, but I have a friend who miscarried just last year and they told her the same thing at least 6 months.
So sorry for your loss and may all future pregnacies be blessed.

I miscarried triplets at 15 weeks last december and got pregnant again in 3 months. (Now 30 weeks with ONE very healthy and active baby girl!) You should wait at least 6 weeks after a D&C for health purposes...but anytime after that is fine. It only takes your hormones 4-6 weeks to recover. Just make sure you are emotionally ready...and keep taking your prenantal vitamins...your body needs them.
Good Luck!

I'm so sorry for your loss. I know my mom had a miscarriage at 4 months, they told her to wait till her two next normal periods. But she was pregnant within the next one month. It is not always great to get pregnant right after, b/c of your body changes and stuff. But it is not always bad. i really am sorry and hope you have healthy pregnancies for now on.
